Clay Modelling

Imagination      Inspiration      Intuition

Painting and clay modelling can help us explore ways to express human feelings such as hope, joy, wonder, sorrow, loss.

Your concentration during the process helps you see these emotions and this insight helps you balance the polarities you experience.

All artistic processes help self awareness and expression. We are all able to reflect ourselves in an artistic way.

Painting and Sculpture Groups for all who are interested in the experience or developing a different technique.

Materials are discussed at the first lesson and supplied by the participant.

Clay Workshop

Modelling Gesture

Sculpt your feelings into gesture and create forms that flow with the rhythms of your breathing.   Experience the memory in your fingers and hands and enjoy the living forms that arise.  Create expressive objects which are integral to form and feeling.   Refine your spirit’s vessel for expression:  expand your awareness of gesture and form for yourself and your community.

Head Study

Working with the memory in your hands, watch how emotional memory brings your ball of clay to form and movement.  Letting this expression flow opens pathways for relating to self and others.

This workshop will culminate in the modelling of a  life size head, which will truly surprise you

Painting Workshops

All classes are based on the wet-on-wet and veiling methods.

Students learn to feel the mood and gesture of colour through painting preliminary sketches of the motif in wet-on-wet.  This preparation is followed by veil painting the motif.

  • Classes introducing Goethe Colour exercises.
  • Painting themes can be based on Rudolf Steiner’s Nine Nature Moods or the Seven Sketches
  • Any other theme/motif can be developed as required.  All suggestions will be heard and considered and worked with.
